Reflections of Week 1
Procrastination is the enemy of productivity. I wouldnt say that I have totally procrastinated on ALL my assignments, but I am pretty sure that I could have been at least 30% more efficient and productive with my time this week. A lot of administrative issues, and the work with trying to buy a car has certainly taken up a significant amount of time which could have been put to better use in terms of coping with this week's reading load and assignments.
Nonetheless, I was genuinely intrigued by the topics raised by this week's readings. Prior to this, I have never heard of a 'Generation C' before, or knew what a produser was, but understanding these concepts helped me better appreciate the evolution of web users and learners over time.
I am also trying to immerse myself fully into this course by actively participating in blogging, twitter and the discussion posts. Blogging is something new to me, and definitely not a habit I have - even back when even blogging was cool. However, I think that this could be put to good use as a learning journal, to track my learning journey and experience throughout the semester. I will also try to include some ideas on how to implement the week's concepts into my future professional and personal life!
See you guys soon!
Looking forward to following your journey! Blogging is new to me as well, but I can see how it is a great tool to document our learning path through this course.
ReplyDeleteI am a professional procrastinator and fell into that trap the first week as well. I even missed an assignment for a different class because it was a two-part assignment with part of it due on Thursday, but the date in the calendar was for Sunday. I went old school and got a planner and am writing in "post to blog" or "tweet something" at least by doing this I will get in the habit! We got this!
ReplyDeleteBeth,
DeleteThe paper calendar is not a bad idea! I had some difficulty (I guess I still am) after setting everything up on which direction to go. I'm currently reading our classmates blogs in hope to spark some ideas of my own.
