Produsage Assignment Reflections
This week's blog posts will definitely include a lot of reflections on the course, and how my knowledge and understanding of Web 2.0 tools have developed over the semester. I will begin by reflecting on my Produsage Assignment.
Out of the three assignments, I felt that the Produsage assignment was perhaps the most meaningful activity for me. Firstly, it provided me with a practical opportunity to demonstrate my learning over these twelve weeks, and incorporate the tools that I had learnt into an actual lesson design. The activity was both engaging, and enriching. Next, the assignment prompted me to experiment with quite a few of the tools that we had learnt about, to determine which ones could be best used in the lesson context. In fact, I experimented with different topics and different tools that I must have several drafts in my folder just waiting to be used in the future.
Lastly, and most importantly, I felt what gave the most meaning to my project was working on the topic of choice. I personally feel that after such a prolonged period of peace, many citizens have started to take Singapore's peace and prosperity for granted. People generally do not have that instinct or knowledge of what it meant to struggle for survival in our formative years, which has gradually eroded the significance of National Education. This topic is something that is dearly important to me, and in designing a lesson that incorporated elements of my learning into trying to make it more engaging, collaborative and inherently relevant to my learners made it a very meaningful project for me.
